Today's pepper prices (December 15, 2025) in major production regions.

Early this morning, December 15th, domestic pepper prices remained stable compared to the same time yesterday. The purchasing levels in the Central Highlands and Southern regions are as follows:

Pepper prices in Dak Lak and Dak Nong (Lam Dong) reached a peak of 150,000 VND/kg.

The purchase price in Gia Lai, Dong Nai, and Binh Phuoc provinces is uniformly 148,500 VND/kg.

The price of pepper in Ba Ria - Vung Tau is 149,000 VND/kg.

In summary, domestic pepper prices showed an upward trend of 500 to 1,500 VND/kg during the past trading week. Prices in Ba Ria - Vung Tau saw the sharpest increase, rising by 1,500 VND/kg. The Central Highlands region saw an increase of 1,000 VND/kg, while Binh Phuoc only increased by 500 VND/kg.

Pepper prices today, December 15, 2025: Supply tensions push prices up.

With this upward trend, domestic pepper prices have reached the important mark of 150,000 VND/kg again. The price increase last week followed a week of declines of 2,000 - 3,000 VND/kg.

Analysts believe that the positive increase in pepper prices last week stemmed from several factors. Firstly, the impact of the US tariff decision. Secondly, concerns about a potential decrease in pepper supply due to prolonged and complex flooding in key growing regions of the Central Highlands pushed prices higher. Additionally, the beginning of the month coincided with preparations for the year-end festive season, boosting market demand.

Vietnam's pepper exports have already reached $1.5 billion in just 11 months. It is projected that the total export value for the whole of 2025 could exceed $1.6 billion, breaking the industry record set 10 years ago.

Vietnam's pepper industry returned to the billion-dollar mark for the first time in 2024, after many years of missed opportunities. Exports peaked at $1.42 billion in 2016, but then continuously declined, hitting a low of $666 million in 2000. Currently, the US and EU remain the two largest markets, accounting for over half of export revenue.

Despite achieving impressive export milestones, Vietnam's pepper industry still faces three core challenges. These are: strong supply and demand fluctuations, easily leading to cycles of price surges and subsequent sharp declines; increasingly stringent quality requirements from major markets such as the US, EU, and Japan; and growing competition from other major producing countries like Brazil, Indonesia, and India.

World pepper prices are stable, and international trade is undergoing many shifts.

According to data from the International Pepper Association (IPC), the prices of black and white pepper in major export markets around the world remained unchanged in the most recent trading session (December 15).

Vietnamese black pepper export prices remained unchanged at US$6,500 – US$6,700/ton for 500 g/l and 550 g/l grades. Indonesian black pepper (Lampung) prices were stable at US$6,996/ton. Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper reached US$6,075/ton. Malaysian black pepper was priced at US$9,000/ton.

White pepper prices also remained stable in various markets: Indonesian Muntok white pepper prices stayed unchanged at US$9,645/ton. Malaysian white pepper prices reached US$12,000/ton. Vietnamese white pepper prices reached US$9,250/ton.

According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), pepper imports into the Netherlands in August reached 728 tons, a 45% decrease compared to the previous month. This decline was mainly due to a 38.9% decrease in imports from Vietnam, the largest supplier.

Overall, in the first eight months of 2025, the Netherlands imported 8,755 tons of pepper, a 23% decrease in volume compared to the same period in 2024. However, the import value increased by 13.4% due to rising pepper prices.

Vietnam is the largest supplier of pepper in the Netherlands, accounting for 56.9% of the market share in the first eight months of 2025.

The average import price of pepper into the Netherlands market in the first eight months of 2025 reached US$7,751 per ton, an increase of 47.2% compared to the same period in 2024.

Although imports from Vietnam decreased by 30.2% in volume during the first eight months of the year, the import value increased. The average export price of Vietnamese pepper to the Netherlands reached US$7,989 per ton, higher than Brazil (US$5,881 per ton) but lower than Indonesia (US$8,151 per ton).

Brazil's market share also decreased from 15.5% to 11.7%. Other markets such as Indonesia, India, China, and Germany all saw significant increases in market share.

Latest domestic pepper price list as of December 12, 2025. Compiled by: Bang Nghiem

Today's domestic pepper prices remain unchanged. Therefore, the price of this agricultural product is still at around 150,000 VND/kg.

According to Customs data, in the first 11 months of 2025, Vietnam's pepper industry recorded a record high export value of over 1.5 billion USD, a 24% increase compared to the same period, despite a production volume of only 223,242 tons, a slight decrease of 0.5%. The main driving force behind this growth was a 30% increase in the average export price, reaching 6,764 USD/ton, the highest level ever.

Ms. Hoang Thi Lien, Chairwoman of VPSA, believes that 2025 is a "relatively optimistic" period for Vietnamese pepper businesses amidst unpredictable global trade fluctuations. She stated that total export revenue for the year could reach $1.6 billion, while emphasizing that favorable prices are bringing tangible benefits to farmers and creating momentum for the industry's continued development.

According to VPSA, Vietnam currently has approximately 200 pepper processing and trading enterprises, of which 15 large enterprises account for 70% of exports, while 5 FDI enterprises hold nearly 30% of the market share. The entire industry owns 14 internationally standardized deep processing plants, supplying a diverse range of products from whole peppercorns to pepper powder.

Thanks to the advantages from 16 free trade agreements, businesses have effectively expanded into key markets. Exports to the US reached $373 million, a slight decrease of 1%, while exports to Germany increased by 34%, India by 58%, and the UK by 67%. Notably, from November 2025, US President Donald Trump's executive order exempting agricultural products that cannot be produced domestically on a large scale from tariffs will help Vietnamese pepper continue to benefit from preferential treatment and strengthen profit margins.

Ms. Lien stated that the company is boosting orders for the fourth quarter with positive results, but emphasized that the pepper industry needs to simultaneously expand markets and develop products to effectively exploit global market segments.

Therefore, the price of pepper in Vietnam today, December 12, 2025, is trading around 148,000 - 150,000 VND/kg.

Pepper prices today, November 30, 2025, closed the week with a sharp decrease of 2,000 to 3,000 VND/kg. Specifically, Gia Lai pepper prices recorded the sharpest decrease of 3,000 VND/kg compared to last week. In Dak Lak and Dak Nong, pepper prices decreased by 2,000 VND/kg compared to last week.

In the Southeast region, pepper prices in Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Dong Nai decreased by 2,500 VND/kg compared to last week. Pepper prices in Binh Phuoc decreased by 2,000 VND/kg compared to last week.

Vietnam’s pepper has the opportunity to set a new export record as pepper prices increase sharply in the international market. Global supply is decreasing, but demand remains high, pushing prices to attractive levels, helping pepper continue to maintain its position as “black gold” among agricultural exports.

Many farmers have switched to growing coffee and durian during the period of low pepper prices, causing supply to shrink. This decline has inadvertently created momentum for pepper prices to increase in the market, helping to significantly improve export value.

Experts predict the price increase cycle could last more than 10 years. Next year, domestic pepper prices are expected to reach VND200,000/kg thanks to strong momentum from the export market and continued supply contraction.

In the short term, pepper prices are likely to remain above VND148,000/kg. If floods and rains continue to slow down the harvest, prices may even reach a new high, creating more opportunities for pepper growers in the final stages of the season.

World pepper prices today

Update on world pepper prices from the International Pepper Association (IPC), at the end of the most recent trading session, IPC listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at 6,995 USD/ton, and the price of Muntok white pepper at 9,643 USD/ton.

The price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper is at USD 6,150/ton. The price of Malaysian ASTA black pepper is at USD 9,000/ton; the price of this country's ASTA white pepper is at USD 12,000/ton.

Today, Vietnam black pepper price is traded at 6,500 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l at 6,700 USD/ton; white pepper price at 9,250 USD/ton.

By the end of November 2025, pepper prices in the export market continued to maintain an upward trend when the total turnover reached nearly 1.52 billion USD. Although output decreased by 4.4% compared to the same period in 2024, export value increased by 24.4% thanks to the sharp increase in black and white pepper prices. The 7.7% decrease in output compared to 2023 did not reduce the attractiveness of this item.

In 11 months, the average export price of black pepper reached 6,618 USD/ton and white pepper reached 8,636 USD/ton. These two prices increased by 1,767 USD and 2,175 USD respectively compared to the same period in 2024, helping Vietnam's pepper export price maintain a highly competitive position in the world market.

Many key export enterprises such as Olam Vietnam, Nedspice, Phuc Sinh or Simexco Dak Lak are maintaining stable output, contributing to maintaining the supply rhythm for the market. Although some enterprises have reduced output, others have increased, creating a balanced picture for exports and supporting pepper prices from fluctuating strongly.

The US remains the largest consumer market but imports have decreased by 28%. In return, demand from the UAE, China and India has increased sharply, especially China, which increased by 83.7%. The expansion from emerging markets has helped pepper prices maintain a positive trend and created stable expectations for the following months.
