Pepper market on July 18, 2024: worried about the pepper import and export situation in early July 2024

Pepper price today July 18 is in the range of 147,000 - 148,000 VND/kg.
The Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association has just announced that in the first 15 days of July 2024, Vietnam exported 9,993 tons of pepper, total export turnover reached 56.5 million USD.
Main export enterprises include: Olam Vietnam: 1,272 tons, Phuc Sinh: 1,224 tons; Simexco Dak Lak: 839 tons, Nedspice Vietnam: 796 tons and Pearl: 649 tons.
Previously, in the first 16 days of June 2024, Vietnam exported 16,211 tons of pepper. Thus, exports in the first half of July 2024 decreased sharply.
In the opposite direction, Vietnam imported 746 tons, total import turnover reached 4.5 million USD. Olam and KSS Vietnam are the two main importers, reaching 232 tons, accounting for 31.1%, and 75 tons, accounting for 10.1%, respectively. The main pepper importers are Indonesia: 438 tons, accounting for 58.7% and Cambodia: 229 tons, accounting for 30.7%.
In the first 16 days of June 2024, Vietnam imported 1,357 tons. Compared to the same period last month, the import volume also halved.
At the end of the most recent trading session, the International Pepper Community (IPC) listed Lampung (Indonesia) black pepper price at 7,223 USD/ton, an increase of 0.46%; Brazilian black pepper price ASTA 570 is at 7,125 USD/ton; Kuching (Malaysia) ASTA black pepper price is 7,500 USD/ton.
Muntok white pepper price was 9,196 USD/ton, up 0.46%; Malaysian ASTA white pepper price is at 8,800 USD/ton.
The price of Vietnamese black pepper is trading at 6,000 USD/ton for 500 g/l type; type 550 g/l at 6,600 USD/ton; White pepper price is at 8,800 USD/ton. IPC slightly increased pepper prices in Indonesia after a series of previous declines.
