Pepper prices last week increased from 3,000-4,000 VND in localities.
Specifically, after increasing 3,000 VND/kg, the two provinces of Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Binh Phuoc adjusted the transaction to a common level of 148,000 VND/kg.
Traders in Gia Lai and Dong Nai are buying pepper at a price of 149,000 VND/kg, an increase of 4,000 VND/kg.
The highest transaction level of 150,000 VND/kg was recorded in Dak Lak and Dak Nong after an increase of 4,000 VND/kg.

According to data from the General Department of Customs, in the first 6 months of the year, Vietnam exported a total of 141,392 tons of pepper of all kinds with a value of 629.9 million USD, down 7.4% in volume but increasing by more than 30% in value compared to the same period in 2023.
Of which, India is Vietnam's fourth largest pepper consumption market with a volume of 6,813 tons, worth 28 million USD, a sharp increase of 46.5% in volume and up to 90.6% in value.
According to data from the Indian Ministry of Commerce, by the end of May, the country's total pepper imports reached 12,482 tons, an increase of nearly 11% over the same period last year.
Notably, Vietnam was the largest pepper supplier to India in the first 5 months of the year with a volume of 5,220 tons, an increase of 42.5% over the same period last year. This result helps Vietnam's pepper market share in India expand from 32.5% to 41.8%.
Next is Sri Lanka reaching 2,790 tons, down 1.7% and accounting for 22.4% market share; Brazil reached 2,554 tons, an increase of 50.7% and accounting for 20.5%; Indonesia reached 1,274 tons, an increase of 5.9% and accounting for 10.2%.
The four countries mentioned above accounted for a total of nearly 95% of India's pepper supply in the first 5 months of the year.
Vietnam's average export price of pepper to India in 5 months increased by 29.7% to 4,371 USD/ton, higher than the price of 3,414 USD/ton in Brazil and 3,141 USD/ton in Indonesia, but lower than the price of 3,414 USD/ton in Brazil and 3,141 USD/ton in Indonesia. with Sri Lanka's figure of 6,190 USD/ton.
